The annual Las-Vegas based The International Consumer Electronics Show (CES) showcased high-tech gadgets, which were a real feast for the eyes. At the site of CES, Sandisk announced in a press conference, a whole range of new gadgets for 2007, the special attraction being a palm sized MP3 Player, which though looks like a mobile phone, is in fact an innovation ushering in revolution for the music lovers.

The unique feature of this MP3 Player is a wireless connection that provides the opportunity to listen the music of one’s own choice without synchronizing with a PC. Named as the Wireless Sansa Connect internet MP3 player, it can access online photo galleries and music recommendation services. This Sansa connect player is Wifi enabled and plays internet radio. This hi-fi player uses the software designed by a company named Zing.


It is different from other such subscription services in the sense that all other players of this genre have got to tie up to a PC. The 4 GB Sansa Connect will be available with a 2 GB expansion card and will hit the market in the month of March. This device is sensitive enough to know and inform when others are online and as such its users can send and receive suggestions also. Apart from songs, the the Sansa Connect has enabled Flickr functionality, which would enable one to view images hosted by Flickr.com. As such large number of pictures will be available without having to fill up the player.

In this Press Conference at CES, many other products were also announced, which included solid state drives (SSDs) for notebook computers, USB TV media recorder and the Sansa View. The USB TV media recorder will hit the markets in the second quarters of this year. The Sansa View is a palm-size 8 GB flash memory gadget, can store up to 33 hours of video, 2000 songs and thousands of pictures.
