If you find a hundred dollar bill lying on the ground, maybe you will pick it up. Understandable. If you find a laptop would you take it. Ok how about the keyboard of a laptop, yes the accessory, a keyboard that works just for a dell inspiron. Will you take it and sell it on ebay and get the money.

The ethics and morals we have vary. Let me tell you my story. I recently moved to a new address but my credit card is the same. So my paypal account still have the same credit card. I bought a Dell Inspiron keyboard for my laptop from ebay. The missing keys ( the keys 4-1 and F (4-1) are missing ) forced me to buy the accessory. Within a few hours of winning the bid, I found that it was being shipped to my paypal address which is the billing address of my credit card, which is the old address. I mailed the seller to send it to my new address but he had already shipped. But as I had address forwarding enabled for USPS, I thought I will get the package at my new address. Atleast all the spam mails are being forwarded.

After a few days wait I realised it has been delivered ( as per as the online confirmation) at the old address. I called USPS, they cannot help and asked me to file a telephonic complaint. The seller said he cannot do anything about it. So I went and knocked on the door of the guy at my old address and explained to him about the package.

The guy listened to me with a serious face and as he said “I did not get the package”, he could not hide the sly smile from appearing on his face. I knew he had it and he will not give it to me. Well had been an ipod or a laptop, still I understand as he can use it. What are the chances he has the specific model of Dell inspiron. I am sure he will sell it on ebay !! Creep !!

What would you have done ?
